A&R was established in 1972 by Adrienne Rich. With a desire to create a one-of-a-kind design firm that represented her belief that spaces should reflect the personalities of the people who live and work in them, not the designer, Adrienne opened a small store in the Morris County Mall in Cedar Knolls, NJ.
Her innovative approach to interior design--combined with a dynamic, energetic personality--propelled the business forward. In fact, when the 13,000- square- foot vintage Denville movie theatre became available she seized the opportunity and transformed the grand 1930s Art Deco theatre into our dynamic showroom.

Adrienne's penchant for getting to know and understand her clients coupled with great design support launched the firm into an award-winning multi-million dollar business with clients in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Many are well-known and many have become well-known friends to A&R!

Today Adrienne partners with her daughter, Allyson Rich, to continue the tradition along with a staff of designers and space planning experts, each professionally educated and trained.
